Directions:
Rub the butter into the flour; add all the other dry ingredients and mix well. Melt the treacle and mix with a little buttermilk. Stir into the flour mixture, adding just enough milk to make a stiff dough. Knead lightly, roll out to three quarter inch thick, form into a round, and cut into eight triangular pieces. Place on a greased tin and bake in a good oven for ten to fifteen minutes. |
